Product Description

Tech Site Review !

Gary Ng from iPhoneinCanada Tech Site owns it.

The dock is made of hard plastic and quite sturdy as there’s a nice grip on the bottom. There is a removable back slot to allow you to dock your iPhone 5 housed in a thin case (1mm or so). Any iPhones in larger cases won’t work with this dock. My iPhone 5 covered in Wrapsol film worked just fine. My Apple Lightning cable inserted into the rear port without any issues.

The sign of a good dock is one where you can easily dock your iPhone with one hand without looking at. I’m talking about docking your iPhone from bed with one hand (everyone does this). Since the iPhone 5 Dock PRO has a nice angled back, it serves as a guide to insert the iPhone. I am able to dock my phone without looking at it, and more importantly there’s enough give to undock my phone one-handed as well.

I’ve been using this dock for a week now and I can safely say my iPhone 5 has not exploded (yet) or experienced any charging issues. I’ll admit I did have reservations about using third party Lightning accessories, but those fears have been alleviated. It works exactly as described, looks great and I’m very happy with it. The only downside is the lack of aesthetic when it comes to the Lightning connector piece itself, but don’t worry because it inserts fine into the iPhone.

Overview

You can charge and sync iPhone 5 with a micro USB cable!

The iPhone 5 Dock PRO is available in micro USB port or Lightning port option. Both option charges and sync your iPhone 5 in a proffessional easy manner!

If you choose the micro USB port version, you can easily use any of your existing standard micro-USB cable, plug it into the back of the dock and it will instantly charge and sync your iPhone 5.

If you choose the Lightning port version, you will need to use a standard Apple Lightning Cable or any of our iPhone5mod in-house Lightning Cable to plug it into the back of the dock in order to charge and sync your iPhone 5.

What's more! The dock includes a removable add-on slot cover to support both iPhone 5 with housing or simply nude iPhone 5 without any protective case. If your iPhone 5 has no housing (nude iPhone 5), you simply keep the slot cover in place. If your iPhone 5 is encased with shell or protective case (not more than 1mm in thickness), you can remove the slot cover and your iPhone 5 will rest comfortably nicely on the dock. The iPhone 5 Dock PRO will work with shells and protective cases that are not more than 1mm in thickness.

Your iPhone 5 sits upright in the dock as it syncs or charges, so it's perfect for a desk or countertop. You can even conduct speakerphone calls with your iPhone in its dock. With the iPhone 5 Dock PRO, you get easy access to a dock connector port for syncing or charging.

  1. 4 out of 5

    Rating by on :

Right now, I’m giving this a 4-star review. Just got my two Lightning port docks (w/micro USB connection) in the mail. For starters, the build quality is terrific, very professional and feels sturdy. Connected my iPhone 5 without problems, however even after removing the adapter plate it was still a pretty snug (almost too snug) fit with my ultra-thin snap case. Overall, I’m impressed because I took a leap of faith on something that I had a feeling might be a scam. Now I know it’s not and I plan on ordering more from these guys.

So why 4-stars and not 5? After several minutes on the dock, I received a “This accessory was not made to charge this device” warning on my phone screen. I thought, “Uh-oh, here we go.” But then I wiggled the phone in the dock a little and the error went away and it started charging and syncing again. Just a fluke? Who knows.

I think this is a good first step (and cheap) solution until something completely foolproof comes along. Definitely worth the risk.
